Animator Robby_24 showcased fun 2D effects applied to a 3D animation created by Ali, also known as ClampedTangent on X/Twitter. Together, they managed to create an impressive sequence, and it's hard to tell that the VFX were made in 2D.
The character and rig come from AppLibot and add some more charm to the whole picture.
2D effects look great on any animation, both two- and three-dimensional. Take, for example, this Ganondorf from The Legend of Zelda by Salvador Avila.
Sony Pictures Imageworks also did some quality work with Spot in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.
