Rui Huang added to the Three-Body Problem universe.
Talented 3D artist Rui Huang created Asia One, a circular city hovering in space above Jupiter, inspired by Liu Cixin's sci-fi novel The Three-Body Problem and its Netflix adaptation.
The project will awe you with its tiny details in such a large scope object, carefully built by Huang in Blender using Eevee. You see cars moving and life continuing in this confined space.
"In the universe of The Three-Body Problem, Jupiter is the predetermined coordinate of humanity’s destiny, while Asia One, hovering on its far side, serves as the ark of civilization in the Blackout Project. Through the lens of sci-fi visual art, we outline the silhouette of a future city, giving tangible form to this profound resonance with survival, unity, and the future."
The novel tells the story of Earth encountering an alien civilization from a nearby system of three Sun-like stars orbiting one another, an example of the three-body problem in orbital mechanics.
Huang always amazes us with stunning projects, like civilizations renders, including the Type 5 civilization, thruster VFX, Volumetric Planet VFX pack, and grand space station, which you can find on X/Twitter or Instagram.
