RECUR is an upcoming 3D platformer developed with Unreal Engine by kaleidoscube.
What would you want to do if you had the superpower of manipulating time? Like being able to traveling back and forth between the past and the future. And best of all, you can make changes to the past, maybe reverse an apocalypse, when revisiting.
That’s the mindblowing concept of an upcoming indie title, RECUR, which was just announced earlier this month. It’s a 3D platformer developed with Unreal Engine by a small team, kaleidoscube, the developer behind well-received atmospheric platformer A Juggler's Tale.
It comes up with a creative idea for the typical side-scrolling style, allowing players to travel into the future by walking right and left to revisit the past and make time frozen by going front or back. You play the role of a postman who is capable of controlling time and getting on a journey that will be accompanied by a rich and engaging story.
“You’ll need to use your time-bending abilities to solve puzzles and traverse gargantuan obstacles. Explore a world falling apart in your quest to put things right. Or left.” Here is an example of how you can do it in the game:
While the release date will be unveiled later, the game has a page on Steam where you can add it to your wishlist. Though it’s currently not announced for Xbox or Switch releases, the developers haven’t ruled out the options. We highly recommend following them on Twitter to be notified if the game is made available on more platforms.
