Boycraft's impressive take on the Togo Starburst tarantula was made with ZBrush and Unity.
Boycraft, a 3D Artist specializing in creating detailed insect and dinosaur models, has recently expanded their collection of digital bugs with an awesome new specimen – a highly realistic 3D model of the Heteroscodra Maculata tarantula, also known as Togo Starburst.
Featuring lifelike, physics-based animations, Boycraft's latest spider was made using a combination of ZBrush, 3DCoat, and Unity, with the goal of making the model move using physics calculations and achieving high-speed movement and rotation without breaking down. Going forward, the creator plans to optimize the model to be used in AR, which is something headset-owning arachnophobes should definitely look forward to.
