More from the artist
Take a look at this surreal Blender animation with a papercraft-inspired look, created by Illustrator and Animator James Shedden. The artist also used Photoshop, EbSynth, and After Effects.
In the work, titled "Moonlit Drink," the artist skillfully combines collage-style textures with a pattern reminiscent of pencil strokes, stylized VFX, and expressive lighting, conveying the mysterious atmosphere of a nighttime forest and its peculiar inhabitants. Have a closer look at the water in this piece, as its liquid, layered texture is one of the animation's most captivating details.
James Shedden is also working on a game in a similar art style called A Peaceful Place. The cozy game follows the story of a little mouse wandering through a surreal, fascinating world, portrayed in a clay-like style that gives the whole game a handcrafted feel, reminiscent of an old-school stop-motion cartoon.
