Nate Purkeypile, the former lead Artist at Bethesda, is no stranger to us. We knew that he had worked on SkyrimFallout 3/4/76, Starfield, Metroid Prime 3, and many more before going indie in 2021. The Axis Unseen was the Just Purkey Games' debut title, which was created using Unreal Engine 5 and released to Very Positive reviews on Steam last October.
He seems to be productive and just announced a brand-new game named Deedlee Doo! Carkour!, and it lets you do parkour with a car using explosions.
The two major features of the game are its art style and very "refined" soundscape. Everything in the game is made out of real-world clay and scanned into the game's world, the car itself, the paths, walls, trees, obstacles et cetera. "All of sounds and music are all mouth sounds," from explosion to car, drum, boots and cats, and guitars.
You have a very clear goal in each run: to reach the top of the Meowtain, which is in space. The game takes place in one cohesive level, which has checkpoints available in each of the eight sections. And like any parkour game, failure is inevitable. It could be even more upsetting in Deedlee Doo! Carkour!, because when it happens, children laugh and make fun of you — ouch!
The time for a playthrough would be around a few hours, depending on how good you are at it. So, it would be a perfect fun game to pick up when you have some time and are in the mood for a quick, unique indie game experience.
Deedlee Doo! Carkour! is coming on May 12, just a month away, and Nate Purkeypile revealed that it would be available at a low cost.
