Cool Folding Paper Mechanics Made with Blender & Unity

Kevin Andersson made the world of PaperKlay build itself.

Check out this fascinating folding paper mechanics created by Game Developer Kevin Andersson using Blender and Unity. The technique is used in Andersson's upcoming platformer PaperKlay, and it looks as if the world unfolds around the protagonist, creating bridges, arches, and castles.

As the creator explained on Reddit, he made a tile in Blender, rigged it, and made an unfold animation. Once the unfolding process starts it goes through its row of tiles in Unity and triggers animation with a delay in-between "to make it look like it's unfolding from each other."

You can see the progress on Andersson's Twitter. Also, don't forget to join our 80 Level Talent platform and our Telegram channel, follow us on Instagram and Twitter, where we share breakdowns, the latest news, awesome artworks, and more.
