Cool Liquid Corruption Effect For Indie Game About Dream World

The PIGIAMA KASAMA team showcased their latest shader achievement.

This liquid spread shader is featured in Kasama: The Awakening, an upcoming adventure game from PIGIAMA KASAMA. In it, you step into the dream world as Orion, a spirit warrior on a quiet quest through the fading realm of Kastania. The shader was crafted specifically to enhance that experience.

PIGIAMA KASAMA shared that getting it to work across the entire map was challenging, especially since it also controls the lightmaps. These maps are hand-drawn to add more visual interest beyond a simple cavity map. Here's a picture showing how it looks:

Kasama

Kasama is a short, narrative-driven cinematic journey, perfect for players who enjoy story-rich games like Journey, Inside, or Oxenfree. It's the studio's first game, and the team plans to release it for free on Steam on July 11th. As shared by PIGIAMA KASAMA, there are no paid DLCs or microtransactions, just an OST pack available for anyone who wants to support the project.

Developed in Unity 2021 using URP, the game was originally built for WebGL before the team gave it a full visual upgrade for its desktop release on both PC and Mac:
