Crafting a Warhammer 40K-Inspired Tank in 3D with Geometry Nodes

Raffael Kloten explained how he established an effective suspension system.

3D Artist Raffael Kloten showcased this high-quality animated tank inspired by Warhammer 40K, which was created using Blender's Geometry Nodes, along with terrain tests and a breakdown of the creation process.

According to the artist, the largest challenge was to create a versatile track and body rig, allowing for omnidirectional movement. The node setup calculates the track and wheel rotation and maintains equal spacing between the track links. Combined with Shrinkwrap Object Constraints to visualize the wheels, it allows for lifelike animation of the suspension system, which tracks any desired surface and operates realistically on uneven terrain.
