Create Two Light Anime-Style 3D Scenes in Blender with This Course
Learn how to achieve an anime look using shaders and outlines.
With Anime in Blender, a course by Aniket Rawat, you will learn how to bring to life two stylized scenes inspired by the aesthetics of Japanese animation.
The course covers the workflow from modeling and texturing to lighting and rendering. The scenes are entirely crafted using Blender, and you will learn how you can leverage the software to create a detailed environment from scratch. The tutor will reveal the secrets behind crafting a signature anime style using shaders, lighting, and different techniques, such as adding outlines to renders.
The learning path comprises 24 video lectures with 6 hours of content, accompanied by audio commentary, and project files .blend files, HDRIs, textures, and more.
The first environment is a rooftop scene, which features setting up the fence, the building, adding the benches, ladder, etc. The tutorials cover modeling all elements, applying materials, setting up lighting, and composing a cinematic shot. Two versions of the scene are included, a daytime and a nighttime variation, demonstrating how lighting and sky adjustments transform the mood.
The second scene featured in the course is an iconic anime school hallway. The tutorials also include an explanation of the entire modeling process, from windows and classroom doors to props, such as the desks, shoe racks, lockers, and more. The tutor, Aniket Rawat, also explores anime-style lighting techniques and teaches you how to add outlines to renders.
The course also covers creating a variety of materials, including glass, iron, walls, and reflective floors. A color variation of the hallway is also included, showing how to adjust the mood and atmosphere to suit different styles and color combinations.
Apart from this, the tutorials walk you through compositing both scenes in Blender and Photoshop, using features such as Glare, the Kuwahara Node, and overlays to add the finishing touches to the final renders.
