Digital Video Artist Chris Strommer, a.k.a. HexaBear, demonstrated an absolutely mind-blowing project inspired by Returnal. Within a week, the artist managed to create a stunning digital scene using only Blender, an iPhone, and a greenscreen. The scene features cool-looking special and visual effects and depicts a character getting consumed by a black blob of matter.
To create the scene, the artist created black and white tracking markers with double-sided tape on the greenscreen and shot everything on an iPhone 12 Pro to keep everything in focus. According to Chris, the digital part of the project was tracked in AE, cut in Premiere, with all the effects made in Blender. As for the lighting, the artist utilized Neewer RGB Lights.
