The news that the fourth installment in the Crysis series is in the works was announced a few months ago, although nothing, apart from the fact of its existence, has been known of the game since then. And now via the official Crysis Twitter account, Crytek revealed that Mattias Engström has joined the studio to lead the development of Crysis 4.
In an official statement, Crytek wrote: "We are happy to announce that Mattias Engstrom, known for his work as Game Director for Hitman 3 at IO Interactive, joins the Crytek family as Game Director for the 4th installment in the Crysis franchise, starting this week."
The developer joined the studio in early May. Before that, for seven years, he worked at the Danish studio IO Interactive where he served as a level designer on both Hitman (2016) and Hitman 2 as well as head of development for Hitman 3. Prior to it, he served as a level designer at Ubisoft, working on Far Cry 3 and Assassin’s Creed Revelations.
