Custom Boolean HDA For Maya

Check out Jeroen Maton's tool for modeling.

Jeroen Maton demonstrated one of the tools he developed to accelerate the creation of industrial machinery, allowing near real-time output. He had previously shared the first version, and now it includes full UV transfer support. Also, the HDA can perform Boolean operations, so there's no need to do it manually.

On the right is the modeled geometry in Maya with materials and UVs applied. In the middle is the same geometry, but showing the Vertex Color assignments, and on the left is the HDA output:

"There are also a bunch of improvements to how the smoothing works and how the smooth geometry blends with the base geometry. All of those changes combined make the workflow far less destructive, and allow you to really quickly iterate on the form and shape of your model", commented Jeroen.

Here are some actual models created with this HDA:

There are no plans at the moment to release the tool, but you can visit Jeroen Maton's ArtStation page for more.
