Cute 2D Pixel Art Crab Animated With IK In Godot

"But what a nightmare to set up."

Indie Game Developer Toadzillart showcased an adorable character from their upcoming game, One Coin, featuring incredibly satisfying movement. To set it up, Toadzillart separated everything into individual parts and built a 2D skeleton in Godot. While this process is somewhat tedious, as the developer shared, they're now able to swap character skins using a single texture easily.

There's little information available about One Coin, but the visuals already look pretty. You can check out a few WIPs below:

If you're working on similar Godot-made projects, there are a couple of tools that could make your workflow easier: BUKKBEEK's Pixel Renderer, which converts 3D models and animations into retro-style pixel art, and Okay Salmon's OSIK, a custom Inverse Kinematics system.
