"We're not done yet!"
Just half a year after Cyberpunk 2077’s update 2.2 was released on its fourth birthday in December last year, the beloved action RPG is set to receive a new patch later this month.
This comes along with the game's Switch 2 release. CDPR's Global Community Director, Marcin Momo, brought this exciting news to the fans on social media, promising to share more details about the next update when the time is ready.
This announcement was made when rumors circulated about a new DLC being in the works. As spotted by Reddit user Free_Carpenter151, a LinkedIn profile shows that they've been working as a Senior Writer at Virtuos, which co-developed the 2.2 patch for a Cyberpunk 2077 DLC since April this year. Their responsibilities include "writing their [characters'] dialogue in multiple new side quests" and "conceiving, writing, and polishing side quests for upcoming DLC releases."
This rumor needs to be taken with a grain of salt because CDPR had confirmed that Phantom Liberty is going to be the first and only expansion for Cyberpunk 2077, and this is a "technological decision," according to SVP of business development Michał Nowakowski, that will not be changed no matter how the only DLC sells.
Meanwhile, last month, CDPR confirmed that Cyberpunk 2, previously codenamed Project Orion, which aims to feature "the most realistic and reactive crowd system in any game to date," has moved from the conceptual stage and has entered the pre-production stage.
