Blackmagic Design has updated its editing, color correction, visual effects, motion graphics, and audio post-production solution DaVinci Resolve to version 20.2, introducing some interesting improvements, including support for Apple ProRes RAW.
The Color page saw some exciting upgrades, like the new AI Cinematic Haze for Resolve FX, its library of effects. It creates a fog-like scattering using an AI-made depth map. In addition, Resolve FX Surface Tracker's performance is "up to twice as fast."
The studio added streaming from Fusion page to Vision Pro for the URSA Cine immersive camera, support for the immersive option in PanoMap and immersive world pose rotations and flips, rendering stereoscopic 3D as full side by side or top-bottom, and node stack support for stereoscopic 3D workflows.
There are several changes to timeline as well: exported DRT timelines now include linked Fusion comp media, scripting API support for setting timeline and media pool clip name has been added, along with timeline audio menu action to detach synced audio from video.
