Motion Twin shared the game's roadmap and denied the rumors of its ending.
Dead Cells developer Motion Twin shared its roadmap saying that reports of its "death have been greatly exaggerated" and that 2023 is going to be the most exciting year for the game.
The studio is "reasonably confident" about the release time and content but can't guarantee the game's development.
The next update will add a new panchaku weapon, which looks like a nunchaku with frying pans, a new flame head outfit, rebalancing on weapons and items, reworking the legendaries system to make it more intuitive and interesting, a Soul Knight weapon and outfit, and the ability to pet the pets.
After that, Motion Twin will introduce a Boss Rush area, where you can fight all the bosses you've met, one after the other, with unlockables to win as you progress. There will be several 'modes' and possibly a scoreboard "to add a bit of friendly competition."
Before Christmas, another update is planned, but the developers didn't reveal anything about it.
What they did say is that 2023 is going to be their biggest year since the game's launch, but you'll have to wait to see what the game has in store.
Motion Twin said we're in the mid-life of Dead Cells.
"We're not sneaking out at night to get drunk on street corners anymore, but we've still got plenty of life in us before our knees start to give in, so prepare yourselves for more Dead Cells content."
