Yesterday, Valve announced Deadlock, which was a long-awaited piece of news for game fans, and within a day, the title hit a new peak of popularity, reaching almost 90,000 concurrent players.
According to Deadlock's page on SteamDB, 89,203 people played the game on the day of its official announcement, which is a new all-time peak. Access to the game remains limited and is possible via friend invites or Valve's playtesters. The page on Steam also doesn't offer much information, with only one short clip and a note stating that the title is "in early development with lots of temporary art and experimental gameplay."

Even before the official reveal, Deadlock became increasingly popular. Back in May, "hundreds" of people were playtesting the game in alpha. Earlier this month, Deadlock set a new record of 18,254 concurrent players, and more than 51,000 players are playing the game at the moment, as you can see in the graph above.
