Delve into the Nostalgia of the 90s with This Newly Released Video Store Sim

Retro Rewind – Video Store Simulator is an atmospheric experience inspired by the classic video rental days.

Immerse yourself in a nostalgic atmosphere of the 90s with Retro Rewind – Video Store Simulator, a newly released game from a team of two developers, Blood Pact Studios.

In the sim, you set up and develop your own video store, reliving the golden age of video rentals. You run this business from the ground up and take on all the errands, from hiring employees, managing your team, and taking reservations from customers, to giving recommendations, charging late fees, and serving delicious snacks. The game features an immersive system where seasons, weather, and holidays influence what customers rent, so make sure to be ready for a busy rainy Friday night.

You can design the interior of your store to your liking, delving into the atmospheric style of the 90s, with the neon signs, posters, and more, and customize the walls and floors, decorate with memorabilia, and expand your layout. You can even take a look at the covers of the VHS tapes that are featured in your shop – they have amazing hand-drawn art, reflecting their titles and genres. You choose which titles to include in your store, which will be replenished with weekly releases inspired by real-life movies of the 80s and early 90s.

We had an interview with Blood Pact Studios, in which the developers shared how the team was formed and how they created the games Bonesaw and Retro Rewind, overcoming the challenges that come with self-publishing games. In the talk, the devs shared that nostalgia is a central element of Retro Rewind. "For the most part, we stay faithful to the timeline. For example, there are no credit card interactions at the checkout counter," the creators said.
