Here's your chance to re-experience the classic shooter with improved lighting.
Software Developer Sultim Tsyrendashiev a.k.a. sultim-t has released an absolutely incredible mod that adds real-time path tracing support to Doom Classic. Thanks to this mod, every projectile now acts as a lighting source, allowing you to re-experience a classic shooter. What's more, the improved lighting hides several demons on the levels, adding a new element of surprise.
According to the developer, the dynamic lighting system was added to the first three chapters of the game using the PrBoom source port. Unfortunately, the ray-traced version of Doom is only supported on Nvidia GPUs at the moment. Linux support is also possible, adds sultim-t.
