Early Sonic Adventure Concept Art Reveals Very Different Direction For The Game
Sega has published some artwork in celebration of Sonic the Hedgehog's 35th anniversary.
Sonic the Hedgehog turns 35 this year, a pretty big deal for such a legendary character. To celebrate, Sega shared some early Sonic Adventure concept art, the game that first took Sonic into 3D back in 1998.
Interestingly, Sonic here looks a lot like the classic version, and the characters and environments also have a noticeably different vibe compared to the final game. Also, Amy looks really cute.

Unfortunately, there isn't much context available for these. The designs may come from a very early stage of Sonic Adventure's development, when it was still planned for the Sega Saturn, which could explain the look. It'd be fantastic to see these released in an art book, along with more details about their origins.
