Electronic Arts New Advertising Program Inserts Ads Right into Gameplay

More product placement.

Electronic Arts

Have you ever thought you don't see enough ads? No? Well, Electronic Arts does and wants to rectify the fact with its new EA Advertising program, adding brand names right into gameplay.

"EA Advertising is expanding EA’s ecosystem by enabling brands to integrate directly into gameplay through dynamic, real-time placements, from stadium signage to custom in-game content, designed to enhance, not disrupt, the player experience. In these interactive gameplay environments, brands become part of the game itself, reflecting how players engage with advertising in real-world contexts. Brands can activate across live environments, tailoring placements to meet campaign objectives, and update campaigns with ongoing optimization informed by aggregated engagement insights."

EA believes that the program "gives brands a meaningful opportunity to show up in ways that add value and respect the player experience."

So, next time you play EA Sports FC or Madden NFL, don't be surprised to see familiar brand names across the billboards and other surfaces. Well, it's pretty authentic, eh?

EA has already partnered with big companies to advertise them in games: Visa in EA SPORTS, Lowe’s in EA SPORTS FC, Madden NFL, and College Football, Red Bull in EA SPORTS FC, Xfinity and Peacock in EA SPORTS FC 26, and Mountain Dew’s “DEW University” in EA SPORTS College Football 26.

Oh, but if you thought ads would only appear in sports games, you'll be disappointed: EA mentioned skate. and The Sims among the games supporting the program.
