A Playground Games developer responds to the critics of Fable 4 and the game's visuals saying the game will look like in the trailer.
A Fable 4 developer posted a tweet to reassure fans that the game does really look as fantastic as it does in the trailer. A few days ago, the much anticipated Fable debuted at the Xbox Games Showcase and amazed fans with its in-game presentation of the game's new graphics.
Since the launch of the first Xbox, Microsoft has relied heavily on the Fable series created by Lionhead Studios, which was finally shut down in 2016. Three core games and a few spin-offs have been produced in the RPG series since 2004. However, the series went dormant in 2014 when the Xbox 360 version of the first game, Fable Anniversary, was released. In 2020 Microsoft stated that Playground Games would be in charge of the development process.
After the Xbox Games Showcase, Lucas Koelz, a lighting artist working for Playground Games tweeted that people who don’t believe that Fable won’t look as good as the trailers make it out to be is one of the best compliments he could get.
One Twitter user claimed that Unreal Engine 5 was responsible for making these images feasible. Koelz responded, reminding him that Playground Games is creating a new Fable game using the ForzaTech engine, which is also used in the Forza Horizon racing games.
Despite Microsoft's assurances that no CGI was utilised in the game trailers during the presentation, it is important to note that some fans believe that the version that was seen wasn't truly using Xbox hardware. However, Lucas Koelz stated the visuals were captured on Xbox X.
Unfortunately, the game's release date remains undisclosed. You can watch the trailer and learn more about their upcoming fantasy RPG here.
