Fable Creator Peter Molyneux Doesn't Think AI Is "High Enough Quality" for Game Development
"I think we have to be very, very careful."
Peter Molyneux is often considered the father of god games, where the fate of tiny people (or monsters) is in your hands – quite literally. He designed such gems as Fable, Dungeon Keeper, and Black & White – one of my favorites – and has just released the last project of his game development career – Masters of Albion, a "return to his roots."
In an interview with BBC, he confessed that he doesn't have the "life energy" to create another game from start to finish, but this one should be the reinvention of the god game genre, where you build and manage settlements during the day and defend them at night.

I mentioned some of Molyneux's popular titles, but there was also Legacy, a blockchain-based business simulator promising "real ownership and real rewards." It, like his Godus, was controversial (and quite a failure), but it helped him fund Masters of Albion with, allegedly, over $50 million.
Considering Molyneux's love for experimentation, you might think he'd be another AI-loving manager, but it turns out, he's cautious of the tech for now, at least when it comes to gamedev.

"AI is not of a high enough quality for us to really use in games right now," he told BBC. "I think we have to be very, very careful that there are safeguards in there, so we can't abuse this power that AI gives us."

However, we might see him using AI in the future, when it's more advanced, as Molyneux believes it will "cause disruption" like any other great change: "But you know what? We're human beings. We've always evolved. We've never stayed still. Societies have changed, and we just deal with it."
I feel like this is a sentiment many people (especially not connected to any creative fields) share, and perhaps one day we'll find a way to avoid stepping on each other's toes and get only benefits from available technology.
Meanwhile, you can play Masters of Albion and see what Molyneux will leave with his last creation.
