"So that has, for lack of a better term, sort of screwed us over, somewhat.”
Today, April 23rd, was the anticipated launch date for Fallout: London, a highly awaited modification for Fallout 4. Unfortunately, it didn't happen, as the launch was indefinitely postponed due to significant compatibility issues with the next-gen update of the game.
Dean Carter, the project lead of Team Folon, opened up about the circumstances surrounding this unexpected delay in a recent interview with the BBC. He shared that the team was "blindsided" by the timing of Bethesda's next-gen update, which is set to be released on April 25th.
“This is the thing: they randomly dropped it, that they were going to bring it out on the 25th of April. So that has, for lack of a better term, sort of screwed us over, somewhat,”

Carter's frustration stems from the unexpected nature of Bethesda's announcement. The abrupt disclosure of the release date, without any prior information, left the "Fallout: London" team scrambling to adjust their plans.
“They could just say, ‘Well, look, this is when it’s due to come out. Maybe, get your PR in order, or talk to your fans, cage expectations, because this is what’s going to happen,’ rather than just blindsiding us out of nowhere, which is what has happened.”

Carter stressed that their primary motivation is their fanbase, and he expressed disappointment that the delay not only undermines their team's hard work over the past four years but also disappoints their dedicated fans.
