Evans Bohl and the team released a small fan-made game based on the opening scene from Raiders of the Lost Ark.
With Bethesda's Todd Howard sharing information about the upcoming Indiana Jones game one sentence at a time and planning to start talking about the title only in 2024, some fans took it upon themselves to recreate the adventures of everyone's favorite archaeologist in a game format.
Recently, a group of digital artists led by Evans Bohl, an Unreal Authorized Instructor Partner for Epic Games, unveiled "Indiana Jones and the Fan's Project," an exciting short game demo that reimagines the iconic opening scene from Raiders of the Lost Ark, allowing players to experience it firsthand.
Created in just a matter of "a few weeks," this game prototype invites players to step into the shoes of Indiana Jones himself. Your mission is to retrieve the coveted Golden Idol from an ancient temple while navigating its treacherous traps, much like Indy did in the first film. According to the project's description, the game was made by Elodie Poroli, Robin Delpire, Denis Moxhet, Manoa Salmon, Moerani Flohr, and Evans Bohl himself.
According to Evans, the game demo was exclusively developed using Unreal Engine 5, with the aim of fully harnessing the capabilities of the engine. Throughout the production process, the team made extensive use of a range of UE5's tools, including Chaos Destruction, Control Rig, the Full-Body IK feature, Motion Warping, Niagara Fluids, Megascans, Nanite, and Lumen.
