First Look at Upcoming Harpoon Gun for Gloomwood

Dillon Rogers shared their work on the old-school Thief-like FPS.

The horror FPS Gloomwood might be out in Early Access, but it doesn't mean the development has stopped. Dillon Rogers, one of the creators behind the retro Thief-like title, has shared a glimpse of the harpoon gun that should be integrated into the game in the future update.

It looks... well, like a stylized child of a harpoon and a gun, but its beauty is in its utility: you can shoot the ceiling and grab the rope attached to the spear to hoist yourself and access new areas.

This is just the beginning for Gloomwood's weapon line. Rogers promises even weirder guns in the future: "It’s only going to get more bizarre from here."

Apart from the harpoon gun, which still needs polishing, the upcoming major update will feature "the drenched and sunken" Underport District.

Inspired by the immersive sims and survival horror greats of the late 90s and early 2000s, Gloomwood takes you on a mysterious journey to a twisted Victorian metropolis following your abduction and the beginning of a horrifying transformation.

The game is created by the same people who worked on DUSK, a retro shooter that wants to be as moddable as Skyrim

It seems like New Blood Interactive has more in store, so follow Gloomwood's development on X/Twitter, buy it on Steam, and join our 80 Level Talent platform and our Telegram channel, follow us on InstagramTwitter, and LinkedIn, where we share breakdowns, the latest news, awesome artworks, and more.
