Five Lead Developers Allegedly Left PlatinumGames

Hideki Kamiya, former PlatinumGames Vice President, recently revealed that he had opened a new studio named CLOVERS together with some of his former colleagues. This provoked suggestions that some other lead developers left PlatinumGames, but it was unclear whether this was true. In a recent YouTube video, Hideki Kamiya showed footage of a "Former PlatinumGames Directors' Drinking Party," which allegedly confirmed the info that some of the studio's employees had left the company.

The footage features Hideki Kamiya himself and Bayonetta 3 Director Yusuke Miyata, Bayonetta Origins Director Abebe Tinari, Astral Chain Director Takahisa Taura, and Anarchy Reigns and Resident Evil Character Designer Masaki Yamanaka, and Metal Gear Rising Director Kenji Saito. There's no confirmed information on whether the developers will join Kamiya's studio or not.

Hideki Kamiya left PlatinumGames in 2023, which was followed by the studio's announcement expressing gratitude to the developer: "We are truly grateful for his creative ideas, leadership, and contribution to the growth of PlatinumGames from our start-up to this very day."

The creator described his work with PlatinumGames as "a relationship of trust" and shared that "the direction the company was heading in was different" from his beliefs as a developer. 

The upcoming title of PlatinumGames, renowned for Bayonetta, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, and Nier: Automata, is NINJA GAIDEN 4, a hack-and-slash action-adventure. The studio also worked on another game codenamed Project GG, which, however, was recently removed from the list of projects on the website.
