Former Call of Duty Director Says That $100 Games Are Going to Happen
He believes Warzone and similar titles will be in trouble when GTA 6 comes out.

AAA games' prices jumped to $80 this year, understandably enraging many players, but this is not the end, Sledgehammer's former multiplayer director Greg Reisdorf is sure.
In an interview with Esportsbets, he said that $100 games are "going to happen eventually. You just don’t want to be the first person to do it. All the publishers are waiting."
But who could that be? Reisdorf, like a lot of fans, thinks GTA 6 could sell for this much, and no one would bat an eye: "They would still do gangbusters and everyone would still be excited about it because it will be quality. You get what you pay for, right?"
"GTA is going to do it and break the $100 mark depending on when it actually comes out. It’ll be out there soon. I wonder how the Call of Duty pipeline is changing for that shift in release dates now."
He says that it's a matter of time, and once one company puts the $100 price tag on their game, the industry will follow.
"I don’t think Call of Duty will be the first one to do it but at some point the market demands it. Your investors are going to be asking why haven’t you done this and the costs to create these games are super high."
Going back to GTA, Reisdorf expects a new GTA Online after GTA 6 to launch, which might affect free-to-play games:
"Fortnite and Roblox have a different audience but the Warzones of the world, the free-to-play mature titles, are going to have real trouble."
We'll see whether it's true when GTA 6 gets released on May 26.
