Former Little Nightmares Dev's New Studio Partnered with Epic to Publish a Sci-Fi Game
Developers at Section 9 Interactive will share more soon.
Section 9 Interactive, an independent video game studio located in Sweden, has announced its publishing partnership with Epic Games, while appreciating Epic Games’ continuous support in helping the studio bring their “creative vision to life.”
If you’re not familiar with Section 9 Interactive, it’s a small team formed by industry veterans who previously worked in leading roles on titles such as Little Nightmares. The developer aimed to take advantage of team members’ “combined skills and passion to create world-class games with compelling visuals and interesting worlds to explore.”
This partnership’s announcement post was the first one that the studio’s social media shared since August 2021, when the team became a recipient of Epic MegaGrants, a program by Epic Games that aims “to sponsor the development of exciting projects that may not otherwise have enough funding to fully realize.”
The project that Section 9 Interactive was working on and involved in the program was an untitled sci-fi action-adventure game built in Unreal Engine, which was announced nearly four years ago, in December 2020, but has received no updates since 2021. Now that the publishing partnership has been firmed, and also a teaser from the developer that they’ll share more soon, we probably will not have to wait long to know more about the title.
Although the footage from 2021 might not be able to represent how the game looks like three years later now, it could let us experience the gloomy atmosphere and peek at the formidable, monstrous enemies:
