Framestore Used Blender For Visual Development On How To Train Your Dragon

Thomas Marcos, whose work was featured on 80 Level multiple times, recently shared a talk by Framestore at the Blender Conference 2025, which took place in mid-September. In this session, Stefan Mayr and Juan Hernández from Framestore's Visual Development team discussed how they've been using Blender in major animated film projects, including IF and How to Train Your Dragon.

While it's now widely known that Blender has found a solid place in high-end productions, especially following the Oscar-winning success of Flow, it's cool to see more studios not only adopting Blender into their pipelines but also openly sharing their experiences.
