Krysidian has teased a future update to SMIRK.
3D Artist Krysidian, whose Hollow Knight: Silksong's Hornet rig we recently featured, shared that updates are on the way for SMIRK, their Geometry Nodes-powered tool that allows you to create facial features independently of the head and draw and animate them using Grease Pencil.
Among these changes is the new workflow, which uses Adaptive Subdivision combined with Cutout Mesh, allowing you to essentially create fake booleans. It's reportedly faster, more stable than standard booleans, and great for low-poly models.
