Free Maya Tool That Duplicates Your Camera For Easy Animation Polishing

Tim van Dulmen is working on a new project.

Senior Character Animator Tim van Dulmen, whose breathing setup and jointless rigs we shared before, has announced he's developing a free Maya script designed to help animators polish their work more effectively.

Called Camera Tool for Polish, it includes two key features: Mirror Camera to flip the camera view, allowing you to see your animation mirrored, and Follow, which lets the camera follow a selected controller, helping you focus on specific areas. You can easily update which controller is being followed or remove the follow entirely.

It's non-destructive: the script duplicates the selected camera and applies all functionality to that duplicate. You can delete or recreate it at any time without affecting your original setup. Tim plans to expand Camera Tool for Polish with more features in the future, but for now, he's keeping it simple and focused.

You can wishlist it on Gumroad and follow Tim van Dulmen on LinkedIn for updates. Also, check out Ehsan Bayat's Twosify and Pickify, two other free, useful tools for Maya animators:
