Free Online Archive Of PS1 & N64 3D Models & Game Assets

Pardall Games is a database for gaming history preservation.

Retro gaming fans and game developers looking to learn from classic titles should check out Pardall Games, a solo project by Alfred Baudisch. Essentially, it's an interactive digital museum and archive of assets from PlayStation, Nintendo 64, and Sega Saturn games.

You can examine 3D models, maps, levels, effects, sprites, and textures, compare models in a 3D viewer or side by side in a 3D arena, and watch animations of characters, monsters, NPCs, and environments. The project focuses on preserving and exploring the art and techniques behind these games: it's for viewing, exploration, research, and reference browsing only, and it doesn't let you download anything.

The website and its contents are free to access and non-commercial. The assets come directly from the original games and are converted into formats that can be displayed in a web browser.

Pardall Games currently features 16 titles, including Final Fantasy VII, GoldenEye 007, Gran Turismo, the first three King's Field games, Resident Evil 2, and Spyro the Dragon. The site offers a wide range of search options, letting users browse everything from characters and environments to visual effects, and filter by scenarios, textures, styles, animations, and more.

Although Alfred doesn't accept asset contributions, you can help improve the archive by reporting any errors you come across: incorrect names or tags, broken models, or missing tags.

Visit Pardall Games here. If retro games are your thing, don't miss David Reinig's article on the rendering technology used in Tomb Raider III, explore an online model viewer for the 1999 Dreamcast classic Shenmue, and fly through the levels of Sega's Crazy Taxi.
