Full-Body Control Rig IK System Made in Unreal Engine 5

The system was set up by Evans Bohl for an upcoming tutorial.

Have a look at this impressive full-body Control Rig IK system showcased around a week ago by Evans Bohl, an Indie Game Developer and Unreal Authorized Instructor Partner for Epic Games known to many for producing educational content about Unreal Engine.

Currently WiP, the system was set up in Unreal Engine 5, with the author having already implemented "placing the feet on the ground, orienting them correctly, leaning the body forward or backward based on slope angle, and counteracting the leaning with the head". In the future, the author also plans to improve the setup's stairs detection and utilize the system for a brand-new tutorial. For those unaware, Unreal Engine 5's Control Rig is an animation toolset designed to facilitate character rigging and animation directly within the engine.

By leveraging Control Rig, there is no longer a requirement to perform rigging and animation tasks using external tools; instead, you can animate your characters directly within the Unreal Editor. This system empowers you to establish and rig personalized controls on characters, animate using Sequencer, and utilize an array of additional animation tools to enhance your animation workflow.
