Blender 2.79 is apparently the key to convincingly faking the aesthetics.
Unfortunately, there are no prototypes or traces of this lost media, and no, it wasn't made with AI. Game Developer known online ItsMirror explained they used Blender to convincingly fake a sequel to Sega's game starring the anthropomorphic talking pencil:
