You can download the demo version of Genokids from Steam.
Indie game studio Nukefist has shared an impressive clip showcasing their Unity project, Genokids. It certainly catches our attention with stylish hack-and-slash action, smooth combat flows, cool effects, and a brilliant art style.
The story is that a band called Genokids is having one of their best concerts ever when suddenly, the Infinite Empire of Zenodia invades Earth. They land right on top of the band, ruining both their concert and mood.
The band has four members, each with their own move set, and you can "seamlessly swap between all four characters in the middle of a fight and execute multiple actions at the same time." As shown in the footage, before the combat starts, the player-controlled character will parkour with slick moves and navigate the area. The game also allows players to unlock powerful abilities to boost your kicking experience.
Nukefist is a team of two, including an artist and a programmer who are from Spain. They revealed that the development, which draws inspiration from Persona, Devil May Cry and Kingdom Hearts, started in 2019.
If you are interested in trying the game, a demo version is available to download on Steam. The developers aim to release it in Early Access, which is around one-third of its content, later this year. If things go well, a full release can be expected when more members join.
On the game's official site, you can learn more about the four characters and their roles, personalities, habits, and more. Also, you can follow them on social media to receive the latest footage and news.
