The generator was set up by Joshua Börner and is available for download.
3D Artist Joshua Börner has recently revealed Medieval City Generator, a neat new tool for Blender 3.5 and 3.6 that enables one to create and customize massive medieval cities in just a few clicks.
Comprising an asset pack and a Geometry Nodes setup, the generator allows you to quickly and easily create entire city blocks by simply drawing curves and tweak its parameters via an assortment of sliders. Moreover, every Object and Collection in the generator can be easily replaced or modified, ensuring that you will be able to get the exact result you had envisioned. The assets provided by Joshua are compatible with both EEVEE and Cycles.
"The low-poly, yet realistic assets strike the perfect balance between detail and efficiency, allowing you to build visually stunning urban environments without overburdening your system," reads the tool's description. "The buildings make use of a single shared trim sheet texture that was specifically designed for this pack. The assets are made to integrate with Blender’s asset browser, ensuring a smooth and intuitive experience."
The developer also notes that the assets were designed to provide a realistic appearance from a distance and appear less detailed and realistic when observed up close. Plus, the buildings do not include interiors, ensuring higher overall performance.
