Get The Godzilla Minus One 3D Model For Free

In honor of Godzilla Minus One winning Japan's first Best Visual Effects Oscar, 3D Animator Nelson Escobar has presented an incredibly detailed Godzilla model available to download for free.

Last Sunday, two big Japanese iconic movie giants made history at the 2024 Academy Awards ceremony. While the Best Animated Feature award went to long-awaited Studio Ghibli's The Boy and the Heron, Godzilla Minus One from an almost 70-year-old iconic franchise won Best Visual Effects.

It's the first time a Japanese-made movie has been nominated for the Best Visual Effects award and the first time a Godzilla movie has been nominated for an Oscar, so no wonder the team prepared accordingly. A legendary writer, director, and VFX supervisor Takashi Yamazaki was joined on stage by his star visual effects team members, who held Godzilla figurines and wore shoes decorated with the monster's claws.

As a token of appreciation to the movie team and a gift to the fans of the Godzilla franchise, a 3D Animator Nelson Escobar, also known as Nelzonis2, has presented a free realistic model of Godzilla from the epic kaiju movie. The model along with the celebratory Oscar-receiving animation immediately went viral on X/Twitter.

This highly detailed model was sculpted on MMDCharizard and IronCarnage101's base mesh from Fleet of Blue Flames's collaboration with Godzilla Minus One.

Nelzonis2's model includes upscaled textures and a new displacement map that gives the model its incredibly detailed look. It also comes in .blend format.

While, unfortunately, there is no known release date for Godzilla Minus One in cinemas, nor has Toho announced plans to stream it on any platforms in the foreseeable future, you can still download this amazing model for free to use in your personal projects.

Having trouble finding a local service to print this is a .blend format.  Why didn't it get exported to a simpler format ?  Does it even work?  According to the person below it's just a cube ?  Anyone ?
