God of War Laufey Delayed to May 2027
Santa Monica Studio says the extra three months will let the team polish Faye's journey through the Everywhen.
God of War Laufey's release has been delayed to May 20, 2027. Developer Santa Monica Studio shared the news in an X/Twitter post, saying the extra time will let the team "put in the finishing touches and push the game to its fullest potential."
The studio thanked the community for expressing "so much excitement for Faye's journey through the Everywhen" and for their patience, and promised to share more updates in the near future.

Earlier, the release of God of War Laufey, published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, was set for February 16, 2027, exclusively on PlayStation. The game was announced in June during PlayStation's latest State of Play with a 20-minute gameplay presentation. It follows the story of Faye, the legendary Frost Giant warrior and late wife of Kratos. She mysteriously awakens after her death and must fight through the afterlife of the gods, the Everywhen.
Faye was referenced throughout God of War (2018) and God of War Ragnarök but was never at the center of a story. The character will be motion-captured and voiced by actress Deborah Ann Woll.
Later in July, Santa Monica Studio's Cory Barlog said that the next Kratos-led God of War game would follow God of War Laufey and connect directly to Laufey's story.
