Golden Joystick Awards 2026 GOTY Voting Is Now Open
Spoiler alert: Grand Theft Auto 6 is not on the list.
It's that time of year when we look back on the biggest gaming moments and reflect on the ones that impressed us most. The Game Awards, one of the industry's major events, hosted by Geoff Keighley, won't take place until December (but if you want to revisit the Game of the Year winners from the past decade, check out our article). The nominees for this year's The Game Awards are expected to be revealed next month.
Meanwhile, another major gaming awards event is happening sooner, giving players a chance to have their say. Voting across 21 categories at the Golden Joystick Awards 2026 has now closed, leaving only the Ultimate Game of the Year vote open. Twelve games are in the running for this coveted award:
- 007 First Light
- Big Walk
- Control Resonant
- Crimson Desert
- Dispatch
- Forza Horizon 6
- Phantom Blade Zero
- Pokémon Pokopia
- Pragmata
- Resident Evil Requiem
- Star Wars: Galactic Racer
- The Blood of Dawnwalker
You can vote for your favorite game to win this award right now. Voting will remain open until October 30. The winner of Ultimate Game of the Year, along with the winners of the 21 other categories, will be announced at the Golden Joystick Awards ceremony on November 11.
One big name missing from the list is Grand Theft Auto 6, which releases on November 19, so it makes sense. Watch the launch trailer below and catch up on the latest news here:
