Golden Woman Scene From Jibaro Recreated in Blender & UE5
Sergey Kovalenko has showcased a MetaHuman-powered recreation of one of the most iconic scenes from Love, Death + Robots.
Sergey "sodesign" Kovalenko, a 3D Artist who specializes primarily in Unreal Engine-powered projects, has recently showcased a neat recreation of one of the most iconic scenes from Netflix's Love, Death + Robots series.
Equipped with Blender, Unreal Engine 5.2, and MetaHuman, Epic Games' toolset for creating and animating realistic digital humans, the artist produced a thorough replica of one of the Golden Woman scenes from the Jibaro episode, with the character in question ominously emerging from the depths. According to the author, the project, which can easily be mistaken for the original at first glance, was set up for study purposes.
Attached below are some of the renders and behind-the-scenes shots shared by the author, you can check out more by visiting Sergey's ArtStation page:
Earlier, CGI and VFX Artist known as Storyx also showcased a 3D recreation of one of Jibaro's scenes, reproducing the Golden Woman dance scene Substance 3D Painter and Blender Cycles X:
Last year, we also had a chance to talk to VFX Artist Aquib Hussain, who shared an enormous breakdown of his Jibaro-inspired animation made in Houdini, explained how the water was set up and how the dancing animation was created, and discussed rendering in Arnold. You can check out Aquib's full breakdown here.
And here are a couple of cool videos that show how animation references for the original episode were made by Choreographer Sara Silkin and Movement Artist Megan Goldstein:
