Gorgeous Human-to-Plant Transformation in Unreal Engine

This will make you want to check out Annabelle Sémaan's portfolio.

Take a look at this absolutely stunning animation transforming a man into a plant. Created by Annabelle Sémaan, it shows stems and leaves growing through the MetaHuman's face, and this is as horrifying as it is mesmerizing.

This incredibly smooth movement was achieved thanks to Unreal Engine. Sémaan sculpted the face from a sphere and then worked on it in MetaHuman, where she integrated its wrinkle system to show different expressions. The skin details were created using assets from 3D Scan Store.

The project was inspired by Yosuke Ishikawa's work. You can see the breakdown of the project on Sémaan's Patreon.

If you want to see how she makes her art, check out our interviews with her, where she talks about clothes and material creation. And don't forget to visit her ArtStation for more outstanding characters.
