Grand Time-Lapse: Suzume Environment Made in Blender & Substance 3D Painter

Aniket Rawat shows 30 hours of work in 30 seconds.

The door from the Suzume anime has inspired many artists: it has been recreated time and time again in different art forms, but today, Aniket Rawat invites you to open another door: to the steps of creating his version of the scene.

In a 30-second time-lapse, he demonstrated 30 hours of hard work using Substance 3D Painter for texturing and Blender for everything else, done entirely by him, except for the vines.

"For this specific project, I basically used the clouds in the original movie poster only. I am basically an amateur at Photoshop, so I had to painstakingly select and edit out every cloud and then just use the Healing brush to make it work somehow, that's why some areas appear really smudgy," the artist said.

If you want to see Rawat's other works, you should visit his ArtStation and Reddit.

Also, take a look at Gleb Ziuzin's take on the Suzume poster made in Blender and Substance 3D and NEIGHBOR's recreation in Fortnite.
