The artwork was made by Zhihao Yao.
Zhihao Yao, an HCI Researcher and 3D Designer whose fantastic Blender-made projects never cease to amaze us, has shared a look at a new WiP artwork with calligraphy painting-style looks. This time, the creator showcased a gorgeous ink-painted-like body and shadow animation that was achieved with real-time compositing, and, according to the author, uses "a texture to multiple the viewport". Much like Zhihao's earlier projects, the artwork was set up in Blender using a custom-made collection of Geometry Nodes-powered 3D ink brushes, first unveiled back in September 2022.
Earlier, the author also showcased a similar-looking cat animation:
Besides the ink-style artworks, Zhihao is also known for mind-blowing setups that all involve Blender to some capacity. Earlier, the creator managed to break the fourth wall between the artist and the project by figuring out an unorthodox way to illuminate parts of the scene using an iPhone, showcased a setup that allows one to move objects in Blender by simply tilting a laptop, created a neat water splash generator, and more. You can check out all of these projects by visiting Zhihao's Twitter page.
