Grow Your Dynasty from Barons to Kings in This Medieval Family Tree Simulator

Noble is Crusader Kings without crusaders.

I'm a lady of ambition, but gaining titles in Crusader Kings through mind games and right marriages has always been more interesting for me than just going to war. I am also a sporadic The Sims player who builds an ugly cube and calls it a home because seeing how my characters peek through their offspring is so much more interesting than spending that time on a fancy house. You get the idea.

So, since I first played Crusader Kings, I wished there were a game that focused only on the dynasty part of the game, and I was not alone: the developers from Extra Nice (who also made SCHiM, a game about a shadow looking for its human) prepared a demo of Noble, a simple-looking game where you grow your dynasty through marriage and kids.

Extra Nice

"Grow your family tree with generations of diverse nobles. Decide their path and write history. Send your lords and ladies to feasts, wars, and tourneys. Become friends or foes with the other noble houses. Create your dynasty!"

The nobles have traits, visual and mental, which can be inherited by their children. You need to find the best match from other houses who hopefully has a nice rank and plot of land.

Your job is not only to continue the line but also to make sure your family has enough money and food to survive. Don't get too engrossed in the tournaments and parties: barons need to collect provisions, and counts should get the taxes, or the game will be over faster than you expect.

Extra Nice

Each event has a nicely written summary of what happened, with unexpected surprises sometimes. Send those with appropriate skills to complete tasks, and everything will (should) be fine. But those times were never predictable.

I spent 5 hours in the Noble demo, so if it sounds like a game for you, you should try it and wishlist it on Steam. For now, there is only one house available, and the game definitely needs some polish and variety, but perhaps your support will incite the developers to work on it with even more vigor.
