GTA 6: Over 170 Animal Species, Dynamic Weather & More Confirmed

It's already October, which means the release of the most anticipated game of the year is now just a little over a month away. While we already know plenty about Grand Theft Auto 6 from leaks, trailers, and interviews, Game Informer's recent cover story has revealed some interesting details about how Rockstar Games approached creating Leonida, the fictional state where GTA 6 takes place.

According to Rockstar, the game features a dynamic weather system, from clear skies to cloudy days and heavy storms. Leonida will face hurricanes and powerful tropical storms, which can affect specific areas. Rain will leave behind puddles and wet surfaces, and under the right conditions, you might even see rainbows.

Leonida is also home to more than 170 animal species. You can expect plenty of Florida wildlife, including flamingos, pelicans, alligators, and even monkeys. Rockstar is reportedly building on the animal systems from Red Dead Redemption. GTA 6 will feature more detailed animals with different types of feathers, fur, hair, and unique effects like glowing or see-through bodies. Players will also be able to track animals classified as Rare, Discoverable, and Legendary.
