Alex Senechal, one of the true hard surface masters, shared a great piece on working with the structure of sci-fi works. Many artist tend to use tons of details without much consideration for what they imply and that’s not a good move. Alex explained why it’s extremely important to think about every little detail. 

I made this thing tonight, wanted to talk about how and why i place things, or at least how I rationalize my design choices. And how they can imply more than the surface.
