Highly-Realistic Indian Take on a Classic Blender Donut

Who said that it must be a Western-style donut?

3D Artist and Generalist Pranav Pradi has recently contributed to the evergrowing menu of CG-made donuts by unveiling "Chaya & Vada", a highly-realistic animation bound to make you feel hungry even if you've just eaten.

Straying away from a typical Western-style donut, Pranav added an Indian vibe to the familiar torus by demonstrating several digital uzhunnu vadas, a popular donut-shaped snack in South Indian cuisine, coupled with a delicious cup of freshly brewed, bubbly chaya. As you probably have already guessed, considering the subject matter, the lifelike sequence and the models were set up using Blender.

Besides the final result, Pranav also shared several behind-the-scenes shots, proving that it is indeed a 3D artwork and not real-life video footage:

You can check out more of Pranav's CG artworks by visiting the creator's LinkedIn and Instagram pages.

And here are some more unusual Blender donuts we've had the pleasure of showcasing throughout the years:
