Horizon Zero Dawn Seems to Get a Remaster for PS5 & PC

The original game is just seven years old.

Guerilla

Guerilla's Horizon Zero Dawn is seemingly getting a remaster for PlayStation 5 and PC, as its page was spotted on the ESRB Rating Board.

There were rumors back in 2022 about the remaster featuring improved visuals, including an updated lighting system, reworked textures, and animations, but no official news followed it. As for now, there's also no official announcement yet, and the speculations about the game's reworked version are based only on the rating page, whose title reads "Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered."

Releasing a remaster might seem too soon, as the original game is just seven years old. It was released for PS4 in 2017 and got a PS5 update in 2021, corresponding to modern technical standards. There are opinions that the new remaster would be an updated version for the upcoming release of PS5 Pro.

It is unclear if the PC version will closely follow the launch on PS5, as the original game was shipped for PC three years after the console version, and Horizon Forbidden West launched on PS5 in 2022 and arrived on PC only this year.

Horizon Zero Dawn might also get a cinematic adaptation and the script is already in progress, as reported by Sony this January.
